Galati – ambient and experimental music

Galati is an ambient and experimental electronic music project that takes shape through slow harmonic movement, extended soundscapes, and layered textures, where guitars, electronics, and acoustic instruments converge.

The discography, better described as a continuous flux of sounds, includes solo works and collaborations released on independent labels, and is available on Bandcamp, Spotify, and YouTube.

Project curated by Roberto Galati.

Born in Italy and raised between Padua and Trieste, Roberto Galati developed his musical sensibility in close contact with the rugged landscapes of the Karst Plateau. This territory, shaped by caves, sinkholes, and icy winds, has become a lasting reference point for his artistic language.
His work unfolds through slow processes of drift, erosion, and transformation, where harmonic fields meet rough sonic textures.

His artistic journey draws inspiration from the icy expanses of Ambient and the abstractions of Post-Rock. Alongside music, travel plays a central role in his creative process. Through his Travel Journals, Roberto Galati gathers impressions and memories from isolated and marginal places.

A careful observer of natural and human landscapes, Roberto Galati translates these experiences into a fusion of sound, words, and images. His compositions reflect a deep attention to fragility and impermanence, and reflect on the subtle relationship between humanity and the natural world.

His music does not impose itself. It calls for pause and attentive listening. Nature emerges not as something to dominate, but as a presence to engage with, preserve, and understand. The landscapes he portrays are not mere backdrops, but living elements that carry a quiet reminder of responsibility, connection, and loss.
